If you wanted to find a number that is equal to a fraction, we can either 1. simplify, or 2. multiply both the numerator and the denominator by the same number. 

Since 1/4 is already at its simplest form, we can multiply both the numerator and the denominator by any number. Let's do 4:

1 * 4 = 4
4 * 4 = 16

So, 4/16 would be an equivalent fraction.
