Try this option:
if   [tex]f(x)= \frac{x+2}{4x+4} [/tex]
then according to 
[tex] \lim_{x \to (-1-0)} ( \frac{x+2}{4x+4})=+ \infty[/tex]
and [tex]\lim_{x \to (-1+0)} ( \frac{x+2}{4x+4})=- \infty[/tex]
an equation for vertical asymptote is x=-1.
