Do you think violence or non violence movements are more effective and why?

Non-violence movements would be much more effective. I'll give an example. Putting much more strict gun laws in america would stop mass shootings from happening, as it has taken place in other countries and it has lowered dramatically. Non-violence laws allow citizens to be more safe around other people and in certain areas.
