What is the difference between a physical change and a chemical change?

A physical change in a substance doesn't change what the substance is. In a chemical change is where there is a chemical reaction, a new substance is formed and energy is either given off or absorbed.

a chemical change creates a new substance and energy is either given off or absorbed. in a Physical change the matter of the substance changes but not the arrangement of atoms. The arrangement of atoms changes in a chemical change
