Distance from original to point a
= [tex] \sqrt{ (6-0)^{2} + (5-0)^{2} } [/tex]
= [tex] \sqrt{36+25} [/tex]
= 7.81 units

Distance from original to point b
= [tex] \sqrt{ (7-0)^{2} + (-4-0)^{2} } [/tex]
= [tex] \sqrt{49+16} [/tex]
= 8.06 units

Point A is closer.
