What can a scientist infer by looking at fossil footprints?

The character and how the animal with the footprint behaved within it's group, it's main diet and what it had as food, the scientist can infer if the animal has 2 legs or 4 as the fossil footprint can help it determine theses to a great extent and finally , the scientist will be able to know if the animal travelled alone or together with other animals.
