Easiest approach:  Mult. the first eqn by 2; this results in 10x - 2y = 12.  To this new equation, add the second equation:

10x - 2y = 12
 5x  + 2y  = 3
-------------------
15x        = 15, so x = 1.  Subst. 1 for x in either of the given equations, and then find y from the resulting equation.

Write your solution in the form (1, ? ).
