If the ratio is 3:5, then for every 3 boys there are 5 girls, so you multiply 3 and 5 by 24 and you get your answer.

To add on to what the previous person said, you find what 24 divided by 3 is. The answer is 8 and so 5 times 8 is 40. 24: 40.

40 girls are in the class.
