Let x = -b/2a Expand f(x). f(x) = -2(x-4)^2+2 f(x) = -2(x^2 - 8x + 16) + 2 f(x) = -2x^2 + 16x - 32 + 2 f(x) = -2x^2 + 16x - 30 Let a = - 2 and b = 16 Plug into x = -b/2a to find your axis of symmetry. x = -(16)/2(-2) x = -16/-4 x = 4 The axis of symmetry is x = 4.
