Venus is the second planet away from the Earth and it is the third brightest object in the sky of Earth (after the sun and the moon).

The rotation of Venus is different from that of other terrestrial planets as most terrestrial planets rotate counter clockwise on their axis. However, Venus (as well as Uranus) rotates clockwise on the its axis. This rotation is known as retrograde rotation.
