let the two numbers be x and y.

acc. to the que,

x+y=53

x=53-y (Interms of y)

then,

x-y=25

53-y-y= 25 (substituting the value of x)

53-2y = 25

53-25 =2y

28= 2y

Thus, y = 14.

Similarly,

x = 53-y

x= 53 - 14

Thus, x = 39
