The three-stage model, also known as the "Unfreezing-Change-Refreezing" model, was developed by Kurt Lewin in the 1940s. However, it's worth noting that William Sheppard is also sometimes credited with its development alongside Lewin, as he further popularized and expanded upon the model in the 1950s.
