In biology, a clade is a group of organisms that includes a common ancestor and all of its descendants. Clades are used in the classification of organisms, often depicted in a diagram called a cladogram. Each clade represents a branch on the evolutionary tree of life, showing the relationships between different species based on shared ancestry.
