As we take in new perspectives through art, film, music, traveling, reading etc, an innate reaction to new things causes us to both physically and psychologically react, this is related to a biological sense of reacting to situations as a method of survival, and naturally form our identity as our opinions and ideas are formed creatively and intellectually, shaping how we see the world and our place in it.
