 x-y=-3 so y = x + 3
-5x-2y=1
substitute
 y = x + 3 into -5x-2y=1
-5x - 2y = 1
-5x - 2(x + 3) = 1
-5x - 2x - 6 = 1
-7x= 7
   x = -1

y = x + 3 = -1 + 3 = 2

answer
(-1, 2)
