The correct progression for someone who can lift 20 pounds for 20 repetitions on all sets is to: increase weight by 5 pounds and decrease the number of repetitions per set to a minimum of 12.
Increasing the total weight and the total set at the same time will put too much pressure on your muscle and joints and will risk an injury. To prevent that, you need to increase one thing while lowering the other
