On the graph of the equation 8x − 3y = 24, what is the value of the y-intercept

The y-intercept is -8 because when you put it in standard form you subtract 8x from both sides which give you-3y=-8x+24. Then you divide both sides by -3 which gives you y=8/3x-8. Since the form is y=mx+b, b is the y-intercept so it would be -8.
