No, volume is s^3.

So if one has a side s the volume is s^3

And if the other has a side of 2s the volume is (2s)^3=8s^2

So doubling the length of a side makes the larger box have a volume 8 times the smaller...

.....

The volume for the cube shown is hb^2 that is height times the area of the base...and you are told that the base has sides of 11 and a total volume of 968 cm^3 so.

11*11*h=968

121h=968

h=8 cm
