The very basic reason is that photosynthesis is not specifically color dependent process. It’s a process dependent on any part of light spectrum that can excite the electrons with in a plant to initiate photosynthesis. In plants which do not have green pigments usually have carotenoids. There are nearly 600 types of carotenoids which are able to absorb blue light and appear orange, red or yellow to our eyes.
