what is the x-intercept of 3x + 4y = 12

The x-intercept is the value of x when y=0
So
Plug 0 in for y and solve
3x + 4y = 12

3x +4(0) =12

3x + 0 = 12

3x = 12

3x/3=12/3

x=4
