Find the slope and the y-intercept of the equation y − 3(x − 1) = 0.

The steps to the problem.

First you will want to distribute your -3 to the x-1.

y-3x+3=0

Then, you want to move the 3 over to the opposite side of the equation to give you

y-3x=-3

Then you will want to add -3x to both sides to cancel out.
Your y intercept will be -3.
