The public opinion about the death of Kennedy was rather of surprise and shock to the people as they mourned his death.

How did Kennedy die?

He was shot while he was on the presidential motorcade in an outing. The goal of the person that took the shot was to kill the president.

The death of the president caused mourning in the entire nation as the people were shocked and sorrowful about the event.
