x²+y²+1/2x-2y-5=0

x²+1/2x+y²-2y=5

x²+1/2x+1/16+y²-2y+1= 5+1/16+1

(x+1/4)²+(y-1)²= 6 + 1/16

(x+1/4)²+(y-1)²= 16/16 +1/16

(x+1/4)²+(y-1)²= 17/16

(x+1/4)²+(y-1)²= [tex] (\sqrt{ \frac{17}{16} } )^{2} [/tex]

(x+1/4)²+(y-1)²= [tex]( \frac{ \sqrt{17} }{4} ) ^{2} [/tex]

-> center of the circle= M(1/4 , -1)

-> radius= [tex] \frac{ \sqrt{17} }{4} [/tex]
