If the equation of a line is written in the [tex]y=mx+b[/tex] form, [tex]b[/tex] is the y-intercept.

[tex]y=-6x-1 \\ b=-1[/tex]

The y-intercept is -1. The line crosses the y-axis at the point (0,-1).
