Rational choice theory states that individuals use rational calculations to make rational choices and achieve outcomes that are aligned with their own personal objectives. So this makes people think that they have limited options available. So if they are going to do something to commit a crime they will do it to have the results associated with their self interest and the results of what they do will give them satisfaction and provide them with a great benefit.
