The mid point of the line segment joining  (–4, –2) and (2,8) is (-1, 3)

Mid point formula

mid point = (x₁ + x₂ / 2, y₁ + y₂ / 2)

Therefore,

(-4, -2)(2, 8)

x₁= -4

x₂ = 2

y₁ = -2

y₂ = 8

Hence,

mid point = (-4 + 2 / 2, -2 + 8 / 2)

mid point = (-2 / 2, 6 / 2)

mid point = (-1, 3)
