Q: How might doing math slowly help with problems that are difficult to understand or hard to solve?

A: It calms you down. When you are stressed, you are most likely to get it wrong because you are panicking. This also helps because you can read the problem correctly and make sure you are doing it right, because in math, If you get 1 small thing wrong, you usually get the entire thing wrong.

I hope this helped!
