Division of a fraction is the same as multiplication by its reciprocal. [tex] \frac{8}{9} / \frac{2}{3} = \frac{8}{9}* \frac{3}{2} = \frac{24}{18} = \frac{4}{3} [/tex]
(8/9)÷(2/3)= (8÷2)/(9-3) = 4/3 (one and one third). You divide fractions as you would multiply. The first numerator is divided by the second as are the denominators.
