Hello! Selective breeding means choosing the plants or animals that have the most pronounced desirable characteristics and breeding them. It takes generations to make the desirable characteristics develop more and more, until finally they are at the desired level. Meaning the reason why it takes so long is because you need to breed multiple generations. Hope this helps!
