1/4 because if you multiply the denominator in 1/4 by 2 (that would be the bottom number so 4*2=8) and the numerator by 2 (and 1*2=2) you would figure out that 2/8 is equal to 1/4 and then you subtract those 2/8ths from your 4/8ths to get 2/8ths again, which we already determined is equal to 1/4 so that's your answer.

You get .25 then if you think of it like 4 quarters you only have 1 out of the four so it would be 1/4
