First write the division as a fraction.
-1=5+1/6x

Now multiply both sides by 6 and you’ll get -6=30+x

Then move the variable to the left side and change the sign.
-x-6=30

Then you will add 30 and 6 and you will get 36.

Now after that you will change the signs on both the equations and you will get your answer x=-36!
