What is the slope for the function y=2x^2+2 at the point x= 3?

1) We have to calculate the first derivative:
y=2x²+2
y´=4x

2) the slope at the point x=3; will be f´(3);
f´(3)=4(3)=12

answer: the slope will be 12.
