Two positive numbers have a sum of 54. If the larger number is 6 more than three time the smaller, find the two numbers

Let the numbers are = x.y

A.T.Q,

x+y=54

3x+6 = y

Substitute y value in above equation;

x+3x+6=54

4x=48

x=12

y=54-12=42

So, the numbers are 12 and 42
