Write an equation in slope-intercept form for the line that passes through (4, -4) and is parallel to 3 + 4x = 2y – 9.

slope intercept form: y=mx + b
the slope is m
find the slope of the parallel line, and insert that slope for m in the slope intercept form.  
Then find where the line that passes through (4, -4) crosses the y-axis, and use the y-intercept for b in the slope equation.
