Where;

F = force (N)

m = mass (kg)

a = acceleration (m/s²)

The downward force towards gravity is F' = mg

F' = 10 × 9.8m/s²

F' = 98N

Net force (F - F') = m × a

148 - 98 = 10 × a

50 = 10a

a = 50/10

a = 5m/s²
