Given:

△BCD≅△GEF , BC=10 , CD=3x+8 , EF=4x+6.

To find:

The measure of CD .

Solution:

We have,

[tex]\Delta BCD\cong \Delta GEF[/tex]

Now,

[tex]CD=EF[/tex]             (By CPCT)

[tex]3x+8=4x+6[/tex]

Isolate variable terms.

[tex]8-6=4x-3x[/tex]

[tex]2=x[/tex]

So, put x=2 in[tex]CD=3x+8[/tex].

[tex]CD=3(2)+8[/tex]

[tex]CD=6+8[/tex]

[tex]CD=14[/tex]

Therefore, the measure of CD  is 14 units.
