Answer:

The british goverment was first unsettled by the request, then with more and more people of jewish faith requesting this they soon accepted, however, their was a large number of Arabs upset about the whole ordeal that a lot of riots broke out between the two groups of people leaving a lot of tension in Palestine(hope this helps)
