How did victory in the French and Indian War have negative results for the British?

The British lost immense amount of money for becoming victorious in the French and Indian War. They needed to get the money back to strengthen their economy. For this purpose, they taxed the people of the colonies unduly. This resulted in the colonists becoming angry and revolting against the British.
