g(5a) means that where ever you see x on the right, you put in 5a

So g(5a) = b(5a)- 9    The 9 does not come into it.

b*5a = 20a                 Divide by 5a

b*5a/5a = 20a/5a

b = 4

So g(x) = 4x - 9
