Since he was a devoted Christian they wanted to honor him once again for what he did for our country. Fun Fact: Martin Luther King did not die of the gun shot. He acually survived that. But a white supremacist in the hospital suffocated him with a pillow. a lot of people do not know this because nobody that was at the hospital witnessed it.
