In the process of photosynthesis, plant cells take in water (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2) and release oxygen (O2). How is this different from what takes place in the process of aerobic respiration?

In photosynthesis, ATP is not needed. However, in aerobic respiration, ATP is required.
