at the time man was selfish and greedy so supposedly god made a flood come so it would wash away all the bad people while noah (i think) took the animals and like maybe good people?? (i can't remember how many people he took or if any) point is it happened bc humans suck and that was suppose to cleanse the world of sucky people :)
