We are given the equation:

[tex]x+\frac{1}{6}=\frac{-2}{3}[/tex]

Now we have fraction 1/6 in addition on the left side.

So we apply opposite operation of addition on the right side.

Subtracting 1/6 from right side we have,

[tex]x=\frac{-2}{3}-\frac{1}{6}[/tex]

Now in fraction addition and subtraction , we have to find the lcd first.

LCD of 3 and 6 is 6,

[tex]x=\frac{-4}{6}-\frac{1}{6}[/tex]

x=-5/6

Answer: x=-5/6
