find mid pt formula is
[tex]x \: intercept \: \frac{x {}^{2} + x{}^{1} }{2} \\ y \: intercept\frac{y {}^{2} + y {}^{1} }{2} [/tex]
so the answer is
[tex]x \: intercept \: \\ \frac{3 + 5}{2} = 4[/tex]
[tex]y \: intercept \: \\ \frac{( - 5) + ( - 1)}{ 2} = - 3[/tex]
mid pt is (4,-3)
