Solution -

Distance between A and B is = 6 - (-4) = 10

So AB = 10

We have to find the point C which divides AB is ratio 3:2 .

So in there are 3+2 = 5 parts are to be divided from total of 10.

Hence each part will be 10/5 = 2

Then AC = 3×2 = 6 units and CB =2×2 = 4 units

so coordinate of C = coordinate of A + 6 units =  -4 + 6 = 2

Hence, Point (2,0) divides the asked segment in 3:2 ratio.
