We are given this explicit formula :

[tex] c(n) = -6 + 5(n - 1) [/tex]

In order to find eighth term let us plug n as 8 in this formula:

[tex] c(8) = -6 + 5(8 - 1) [/tex]

subtracting 8-1 first using pemdas rule

[tex] c(8) = -6 + 5(7) [/tex]

multiplying 5 and 7

[tex] c(8) = -6 + 35 [/tex]

subtracting 35-6

c(8) = 29

So eighth term is 29.
