John Wycliffe, Desiderius Eramus, and Martin Luther were all Christian reformers and intellectuals who questioned the function and nature of the church and called for reforms within it.  Interestingly, Wycliffe lived two hundred years before Luther and Eramus, yet his views - especially concerning abuses within and false teachings from - the Catholic church would influence both Luther and Wycliffe centuries later.
